Extra smooth and creamy, Old Fashioned Cream Cheese Pie is an amazing Icebox Pie. With a graham cracker crust and sweetened sour cream topping, this easy pie is perfect for the Holidays or as a summertime dessert.

Although very similar with taste, cheesecake and cream cheese pie have much different textures. Cheesecake tends to be thicker, with an almost cake like consistency. Cream Cheese Pie on the other hand, has a very smooth almost pudding like texture. Also, the addittion of the sour cream topping adds a glorious creamy richness.


Note: An 8 inch pie pan may be used for this recipe. If so, reduce graham crackers to 8 whole graham crackers (rather than 12) and reduce butter to 4 tablespoons (rather than 5 1/2). All other recipe instructions remain the same.


Because of the necessary refrigeration time, cream cheese pie is a great make-ahead dessert! You can make the recipe up to 2 days in advance. Cover and refrigerate before adding topping. You can also make just the crust up to 2 days ahead of time. Cover and refrigerate up to 2 days before adding the filling.


This tastes great but does not work well as a pie. The filling made as instructed never set up past the soft pudding stage. My recommendation: serve in parfait glasses with the graham cracker mix between layers of filling with cherries in the top. It looks very pretty that way and is well received.


I baked this today for my birthday and it was delicious! I live in Australia so I followed the directions for using digestive biscuits in the crust and the amounts were spot on. I made the raspberry sauce and whipped cream topping and my whole family loved it. This will be our new go to cheesecake! Thanks for another awesome recipe!


To the graham cracker crumbs, we will add some sugar. You can use granulated or brown sugar. I most often use granulated, but when making something that seems like a good fit for brown sugar, like this Bananas Foster Cheesecake, I will use it.


I make a homemade cheese cake you pour it into a graham cracker crust then bake it for 30 mins at 350. If i make a home-made crust should i pre bake it as well, or just bake it for the 30 mins after i pour in my cheesecake mixture??

A friend of mine showed me a video of this easy-to-make no bake pie. As I watched how it was made, I decided to make a few changes to it! In my opinion, all the yummy flavor in this pie starts with the buttery, sweet graham cracker crust. The video showed a pre-made crust, but I decided to make my own instead! Chocolate graham cracker crust really gives this no-bake cream cheese peanut butter pie a perfect thick, rich base. Chocolate and peanut butter, a match made in heaven right?


Because this crust is no bake, it's very important to press the graham cracker crumbs very firmly into the pie dish. There is some melted butter involved which will help it stay in place, but otherwise the mixture is very crumbly. It's also important to freeze the crust as instructed so it sets. Don't skip that step!
